This is the first volume of a two-book series concerning the rich ibero-balearic fauna of Tenebrionidae.
314 taxa are included from species and supspecies, including descriptions and determination keys from subfamily up to subspecies, as well as a complete catalogue of species, synonyms and systematic combinations. A distribution map for each taxon, a complete systematic index and exhaustive bibliography are also provided.
In this volume, the key for all subfamilies of ibero-balearic Tenebrionidae and the supraspecific catalogue are included. The larval morphology is explained in detail, and the male and female copulator apparatus are studied in this book. Furthermore, two new species are described and 183 new synonyms and nomenclature changes are established.
It is 500 pages long, including black and white pictures of all species (72 pages of habitus), and more than 300 drawings of the edeaga and morphological details. This is the first modern and updated book concerning the fauna of Tenebrionidae living in such a wide geographic area.
